5 reasons why you should follow our Instagram

Not only are we the best library blog on the planet, we are even dominating #socialmedia. You see, we’ve got Twitter and Facebook, but today is all about the #Insta!

  1. 1. We care about our #students, give #studytips and remind you referencing is kind of a big deal, with #consequences.
  2. 2. We use our degrees to teach you about native Australian flora such as #wattles being technically a fluorescence, not a flower!
  3. 3. We give some good #motivational advice to help you #succeed with your #studies.
  4. 4. We like #libraries and #librarians even when they aren’t our own and love we kept #oldschoollibrarian photos!
  5. 5. We love #books and #animals – and let’s be honest, if you don’t love those things, should we really be #friends?

In fact, one user said they’ve “been astonished by” our “awesome work for some time” and we are choosing to believe it’s not a bot due to our popularity over QUT Library Instagram!

P.S. We are just playing with you QUT Library, we actually love you guys and the playful rivalry we have together!

Do you love Instagram? Follow @griffithlibrary!

Are you all loving Instagram right now? We certainly are!

There was our #libraryshelfie comp in July where you, our talented students, posted amazing pics on Insta for a chance to win $300.

We’ve featured a selection of the #libraryshelfie entries on our Instagram. You should totally head over to @griffithlibrary to check it out. And while you are there, take a moment to enjoy our other Instagram posts. There’s heaps of Insta-goodness to soak in!

There are our regular quotes, of course. We find quotes that amuse us and share them on Instagram with you. We’d call them our regular ‘funny quotes’, but we don’t like to toot our own horn. But feel free to have a chuckle or belly laugh when you read them.

Our Instagram is also a way for us to indulge in our love of books.  We are a library after all, and we have a not-so-secret book obsession.

From books that make up a rainbow to books you read in a hammock, we celebrate all books on our Instagram feed. And if the #bookstagram post is as pretty as a picture, well, that’s just a bonus.

We’re always on the lookout for fresh Instagram content from our students. So if you snap a pic that you think we’d like, be sure to tag us (we are @griffithlibrary). You never know, we may just repost it!

Are you following us on Instagram?

Griffith Library Instagram feed

We’ve seen some of you over on the @griffithlibrary Instagram, and we appreciate all your likes and comments. Fist bump to all our regulars!

But for those of you who aren’t familiar with our feed, maybe now’s the time to take a peek. You can see pics from our fabulous library events, like the recent weekend Hack-a-thon at the Gold Coast.

And it’s not just photos – we’ve dabbled with mini video content such as Boomerang and Instagram Stories. Check out the Boomerang of our massive Hack-a-thon cheque. Cool, right?

While we aim to keep you up-to-date with all the latest library resources and services, we also like to have a little fun on Insta. Okay, so maybe a lot of fun.

We keep you entertained with humorous, motivational or inspirational quotes, like the one we posted recently by Timothy Healy.

There’s also our semi-regular #bookfacefriday posts. Because who doesn’t enjoy seeing how creative some folk can be with their face, a book cover, and a mobile phone? Here’s one we posted a few days ago.

And as much as you’ll flip over the #bookfacefriday posts, you’ll love our behind-the-scenes snaps of our beloved library staff and lovely library spaces even more. Don’t you just dig this shot of one of our more colourful staff members?

Head over to Insta and scroll through the @griffithlibrary feed. If you like what you see, be sure to give us a Follow.
