It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Were you aware that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month? No? Well, then read on!

Breast Cancer is one of the most common cancers. Chances are you know someone either directly or indirectly affected by this disease. The good news is, it’s treatable when diagnosed early.

Early diagnosis is only possible when awareness is high. Did you know that 49% of women have never had a breast exam conducted by a doctor? Early detection saves lives, so start spreading the word!

The tests are quick, painless and have the potential to save a life. Your life, or the life of someone you love. You can book a check up on campus with Griffith’s Health and Medical Service.

And heads up fellas, breast cancer doesn’t only affect women. Men are susceptible as well.

So how can you raise awareness and support this very worthy cause? Share this post and all its linked resources with friends, family and random strangers (well maybe not the last one). If you want to do more, donate if you can, organise an event, or simply buy some pink ribbon merchandise to help raise awareness and much needed funds.
