Despite what pollies want you to think, avo toast is NOT the epidemic we need to worry about. Diabetes just might be.

Type 2 diabetes (the kind you get with too much Netflix and chill, and not enough #gymselfie) is on the rise, with an estimated 500,000 Australians already suffering.

If you ever read The Babysitter’s Club, you’ve got a heads up on diabetes awareness. If you missed that literary great, don’t worry, Griffith has your back.

Griffith Health, Safety and Wellbeing is hosting activities during Diabetes Awareness Week (10-14 July) where you can learn more about the disease.

An estimated 2.4 million Australians suffer from either Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes. Chances are one of your fifty-plus Facebook friends know or loves someone who has diabetes. So come along to the free activities and learn more.

Activities include:

  • Healthy food demonstrations
