Want to win $2000? Register for the Hack-a-thon

The first-ever Griffith University Student Hack-a-thon is getting closer!

It’s going to be held on 29-30 April at our Gold Coast campus library (that’s only three weeks away people!). So we need to get cracking and find our teams of student hackers.

Are you keen? If you want to develop and showcase a web/mobile application and potentially WIN a stash of cash (in the form of a pre-paid Visa Card) you need to head on over to the Hack-a-thon web page.

Registrations for the Hack-a-thon have just opened and we strongly encourage you to apply. Simply, fill out our online form and register for the weekend event.

You can register as an individual, a pair or a group of three or four. If you register as an individual or pair, you will be assigned to a group before the Hack-a-thon commences.

Although, we are most definitely looking for techy-types to write the code (is this you? Sign up now!), we need students with other skills as well.

If you are studying graphic design, marketing, project management, or anything really, sign up to be part of our crack team of student hackers.

It’s going to be 30 hours of hacking fun with guest speakers, pizza and prize money. Here’s the breakdown of what prizes are up for grabs:

  • $2000 for the winning team of the Hack-a-thon
  • $1000 for the runner-up team of the Hack-a-thon
  • $500 for best UI design

Registrations will be open until 5pm, Friday 21 April 2017. Register now!
