It’s time to kick-start your writingPosted: November 1, 2016
It’s November! And you know what that means – semesters end, warmer days, blooming Jacarandas, AcWriMo…
‘What’s AcWriMo?’, you say. Well, I’m glad you asked! It’s Academic Writing Month; a month-long write-a-thon that takes place every November.
Got some great research but struggling to find the momentum to write it up? Now’s the time to push yourself. AcWriMo is all about being part of a like-minded community, joining in the discussion, pushing yourself, and of course, writing.
It provides you with an opportunity to develop valuable writing strategies and to get advice and support to achieve your writing and publication goals.
Hopefully, you’ll come out the other end with some lifelong writing skills that you’ll appreciate in 10 years (#15publicationslater), and some great written content.
AcWriMo has some basic rules:
- Set your goal
- Announce it!
- Come up with a strategy. How are you going to achieve that goal?
- Talk about your work. Join the conversation with #AcWriMo
- Keep the momentum (double-shot latte please)
- Announce your results at the end of the month #AcWriMo #survived
