Children’s Book Week 22-28 August


small BW promo logoGriffith University Libraries are celebrating Children’s Book Week!

It’s the 70th anniversary of The Children’s Book Council of Australia, and the 2015 Children’s Book Week theme is Books light up our world!

The Short List categories are Older Readers, Younger Readers, Early Childhood, Picture Book of the Year and Eve Pownall Award for Information Books.  The winners are:

  • Older Readers – The Protected
  • Younger Readers – The Cleo Stories: The Necklace and the Present
  • Early Childhood – Go to Sleep, Jessie!
  • Picture Book – My two Blankets
  • Eve Pownall Award for Information Books – A-Z of Convicts in Van Diemen’s

Many of the shortlisted books and artwork from the Yarranlee Primary School, located on the Mt Gravatt Campus, will decorate the Mt Gravatt Library.

A special story time with costumes will happen at 10:30am on Friday the 28th in the Mt Gravatt Library – all are welcome to attend.
