Preview our new library cataloguePosted: October 15, 2013
The library catalogue is changing. Take a sneak peek before we switch over!
Change is as good as a holiday, right? Well pack your bags, because the library catalogue is getting a facelift! You have several weeks to familiarise yourself with the catalogue’s new look and feel before we permanently switch over on 18 November.
Have a play around on the site, explore the new features and tell us what you think.
Wondering what the ‘Classic library catalogue’ is? Let’s use a trusty MySpace (classic catalogue) vs Facebook (new catalogue) analogy. They both allow you to share photos. You can upload music to MySpace – you can’t to Facebook. You can play games in Facebook – you can’t in MySpace. You get the picture. With the catalogues, they both allow you to find library resources, but the new library catalogue lets you find article titles, streaming music, streaming video, images and other online material that you can’t find in the classic library catalogue. The classic library catalogue allows field searching (eg: course code), that you can’t do in the regular catalogue.
