Students get some IT InspirationPosted: September 19, 2012
The Griffith School of Information and Communication Technology recently hosted the annual Inspire Day at the Logan campus.
Students from Griffith and local TAFE institutions gathered to get a better understanding of pathways to the IT industry, and network with prospective employers and peers.
Guest speakers included Melissa Scott and Peter Lecinski from the Logan City Council, and Naveen Sharma from Griffith’s Information Services (INS) division.
Mr Sharma spoke of the employment opportunities available to graduates within Griffith and gave the students an interesting insight into the ever-changing IT landscape.
INS regularly takes on former Griffith graduates to fill a variety of roles including network engineers, web designers and developers, as well as providing practical, on-the-job experience during their studies.
