You’re invited to the Launch of the Horizon Report

It is my pleasure to invite you to attend the annual Friends of the Library Public Lecture – The Launch of the Horizon Report with special guest speaker, Larry Johnson, Chief Executive Officer of the New Media Consortium.

The Horizon Report

The Horizon Report is a collaborative effort between the New Media Consortium (NMC) and the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative (ELI)

Each year, the Horizon Report describes six areas of emerging technology that will have significant impact on higher education and creative expression over the next one to five years.

Across all the editions, the Horizon Reports have seen more than 600,000 downloads from the New Media Consortium website alone since the first edition was published in 2004.

The readership for the Horizon Report series as a whole is estimated at more than a million readers worldwide each year. The annual higher education report is translated into multiple languages and is used in some 100 countries.

The 2012 edition will be the fourth in the series of Horizon Reports aimed at understanding technology trends and uptake in Australian tertiary education.
