Old Phones, more chickens – Griffith helping those in Laos

Griffith’s support of MobileMuster, the mobile phone recycling program, will be taken to a new level over the Christmas and New Year period.

The worthy cause will be joining forces with Oxfam in the “Old phones, more chickens” campaign to help communities living in poverty. For every 2 phones that get donated up until 31 January 2012, MobileMuster will purchase a chicken for a struggling family in Laos.

This year Griffith has already seen over 70kgs over mobile phones, batteries and accessories saved from landfill, and this campaign will be extra incentive to get rid of those unwanted items lying around the house.

Make sure to deposit your unwanted phones and accessories in the red recycling station located in the foyer of each library.
