Nathan library (N53) construction works November 1 – November 5Posted: November 1, 2010
Demolition continues behind the level 1 hoarding ahead of construction of new training rooms, consultation spaces and a print zone. This area is due for completion for week one of teaching, semester one, 2011.
Level 2 former collection space has been hoarded off for demolition including grinding of the concrete floor. The concrete grinding will start on Wednesday, November 3 and continue 24/7 for 4-6 days. You may need to make use of the earplugs provided by the library if you’re studying : (
Our print collection continues to be on the move. We’re waiting for demolition on level 2 (SW) to be completed, the collection will then spread out into it’s new space and will be integrated and fine sorted by library staff. This means all collections will be at one call number – no more searching separate print collections for material relevant to your studies. Please ask staff for direction during this relocation – nothing seems to stay in one place for very long at the moment!
Demo a Donut is over for this year, there is one last opportunity for you to score a free donut though – you’ll have to work for it…
As you know, from semester 2 2011 we’ll be colocating all library and IT help services along with student administration, the international office and the university cashier. We’re interested in hearing from you in an informal focus group about what we should call this new collection of services, and how you prefer to find your way around.
See you on Thursday morning, November 4 at 10am for the focus group session.
