New Summon Search

UPDATE : New Summon search implementation has been postponed until end of August as staff work to make this transition to the new search interface as smooth as possible.

Summon searches are done simultaneously across library catalogue holdings and the content in subscribed databases.

You will be able to refine your searches using ‘facets’ on the left hand side of the screen.  These facets include over 25 content types such as:

  • eBook
  • eJournal
  • Journal
  • Web resource
  • Kit
  • Journal article
  • Newspaper article

It will also be possible to limit your search results to individual campus library locations and you can easily identify electronic resources by using the “Items with full text online” limit option.

Fast, comprehensive and reliable – Summon is a resource discovery layer which provides you with a simple one-stop search option.

Traditional library catalogue search options are still available from the library home page.

It sounds nice, but why is the current catalog not working. I
have just tried to do author and title searches and it does not
    work.

Martin I have passed your query to the Library and IT staff and one of them will contact you shortly. I am confident they will be able to advise you of any technical issues and help you find what you were looking for.
